Founded in 1919, the Fédération Catholique Franco-Américaine de Fall River was meant to promote the religious, social and economic interests of Franco-Americans, and to strengthen the bonds of fraternity between various Franco-American societies of Fall River. In order to belong to the Fédération, each society had to be a Catholic, Franco-American society that was not purely political. The groups belonging to the Fédération, however, retained their autonomy.
