Transcript: Miss Blanche Desautels The funeral of Miss Blanche Desautels was conducted this morning at 9:30 o'clock from the residence of her brother, Eli Desautels, 37 Grace Street, Northside, and at 10 o'clock at St. Anne's church where a solemn high mass of requiem was celebrated by Rev. Arthur B. Desautels, an uncle of the deceased. Rev. Paul A. Leduc, a cousin, was deacon and Rev. George A. Quinlivan was sub-deacon. Masses at the side altars were celecbrated by Rev. Celas A. Robitaille and Rev. Harvey J. Bessette, both cousins of the deceased. Rev. Adrien J. Bechard was master of ceremonies, assisted by Rev. Leo H. Paradis. Rev. Harvey L. Desautels, brother of the deceased and a U.S. Army chaplain, was seated in the sanctuary. A recent operation at Cushing General Hospital Made it impossible for him to celebrate the mass. Also in the sanctuary were Rev. Augustin Surprenant, pastor of St. Anne's church, Rev. E.J. Suprenant of Hudson Falls and Rev. A. Nap. LaPalme of Watervliet. The Gregorian "Funeral Mass" was sung by a choir composed of Mrs. Ulysses Gervais, Mrs. Rudolph Thouin, Mrs. Edward La Mora, Diana Lajeunesse, Eugenie Lajeunesse, Cecile Messier, Claire Hervieux, Mrs. Ernest Thouin, Edward Nadeau and Geroge Crapo, under the direction of Miss Marie Ann Lajeunesse, organist. At the offertory Mr. Nadeau and Mr. Crajo sang "Dominie" and at the conclusion of the mass they rendered "Crucifix." At the recessional Miss Lajeunesse played Chopin's "Funeral March." The bearers included Marcel L. Desautels, Francis J. Desautels, Arthur L. Desautels, Edward LaCombe, Paul Bova and Aimee Vaillencourt. Burial was in St. Joseph's cemetery, Waterford, where the officers of the mass officiated at the grave.
